Nusquamton Archives

Throughout the mortal realm are dimensional beings providing services to humans on Earth that they aren’t aware they need. One such being is Nusquamton, the Pleasant Regions of the Miserable. Taking the form of a simple brick apartment building, and with the assistance of its Keeper, it offers respite to those with wounded souls and the opportunity to heal themselves. In return, it feeds upon the energy generated from their misery. Such the way it’s been for millennia. However the balance has shifted, and something must change if they are to survive.

Scenes Semi Outlined Today

I sat down today and in Scrivener I created a page for each scene. I then put each scene into the acts they are currently in for the vomit draft. Finally I labeled each scene for the plot line they are a part of. One of the things that resulted is I ended up breaking up some of the scenes that covered multiple plot lines into separate scenes. Time to Revise Surge of the Soul Eater

Okay so now it’s the 1st of January and I haven’t looked at Surge of the Soul Eater for an entire month. I have done other things and written unrelated short stories elsewhere. Today I returned to the NaNoWriMo site to take the pledge to revise my novel during January and February.

I’m a little frustrated that they don’t have anything up yet for this year’s “Now What?” Months page but they at least have an archive link for previous years. I suppose I need to cut them some slack given that it is only the first day of the year but they’ve only been hovering the link to this page on my dashboard since the end of November so it feels anti-climatic to have January arrive and find nothing new on the page.

I did browse through the archive and found this helpful article on revision that I think I will be using for my first revision.

I actually did it. I got myself all the way to the end of my story WITHOUT giving up and starting over from scratch. Not the 60k words I originally planned but the NaNo site validated the draft at 51,328 words total. I’ll take it and run. It’s plenty enough to work with for a rough skeleton. Now the real work begins, but for now I’m going to sit back and savor the moment…

You know those cigarillos Thomas had in my book? Yeah… I have those with me tonight. And yes I’m totally going to smoke one. Don’t shoot me.

Surge of the Soul Eater – Episode 20

Thomas fired his gun three times yet he missed with every shot. Peccant didn’t appear to dodge. He didn’t appear to be moving very fast at all. Yet his backhand swing connected unexpectedly to Thomas’ face which sent him sprawling to the floor. Thomas scrambled to his feet and ran for cover in the back behind the pews. How did that man move so fast? He hurled himself around the back pillar hoping to come around for another round of shots only to discover Rue waiting for him.
